Registration

As with all current UNCG students, BLS majors must register on UNCGenie during their prescribed registration windows. Registrar’s Instructions.

Looking Up Your Registration Window:

  • Access UNCGenie in the upper right corner of the UNCG homepage.
  • Click Enter Secure Area and log on with your Student ID number and PIN.
  • Click Student Services & Financial Aid.
  • Click Registration.
  • Click Check Your Registration Status.
  • Select the desired term and click Submit.
  • Your registration windows will be at the top of the next page.

Registering for Classes

  • Access UNCGenie in the upper right corner of the UNCG homepage.
  • Click Enter Secure Area and log on with your Student ID number and PIN.
  • Click Student Services & Financial Aid.
  • Click Registration.
  • Click Add/Drop Classes.
  • Select the desired term and click Submit.
  • Enter your advising code and press Submit.
    • Your advising code is provided in your advising email.
  • Copy & paste the 5-digit CRNs into the windows provided.
    • To look up classes to add, see below.
  • Press Submit Changes.
  • Your courses should show up on the new page above the CRN windows.
  • Scroll down to make sure there were no registration errors.

Looking Up Classes to Add

If you do not have CRNs or you are searching for courses to meet a requirement:

  • Click Class Search.
  • Select the desired term and click Submit.
  • The resulting page has many forms. You do not have to fill them all. Here’s a breakdown of the forms you will use. Leave all the other forms blank.
    • Subject: For BLS classes, select “Liberal Studies.” For core classes, highlight the entire list.
    • Schedule Type: Select “Web-based” (unless you want on-campus classes).
    • Campus: Select “All.”
    • Course Level: Select “Undergraduate.”
    • Part of Term: Use this to limit your search if desired.
    • Attribute Type: Use this to select the type of core course you are seeking. This list doesn’t contain the marker codes you’re used to using, so make sure you are looking at the right attribute type (usually GEC).
  • Click Class Search. The resulting page will have a list of any available classes that meet all the details you specified. If the course is available for registration, a square check-box will appear beside the course.
  • Check the box beside the course you want.
  • Press Register at the bottom of the page.
  • Your course should show up on the new page above the CRN windows.
  • Scroll down to make sure there were no registration errors.

Printing Your Schedule Information

  • Click the Student Services and Financial Aid link in the top bar.
  • Click Registration.
  • Click Student Detail Schedule.
  • The resulting screen will provide course and instructor information for the entire semester.
  • Use your browser’s controls to print the page.

Viewing and Paying Your Bill

  • Click Student Services & Financial Aid.
  • Click Student Records.
  • Click Account Summary.
  • The resulting screen will show a summary of all accounts and balances.
  • Select from the payment options at the bottom of the screen.

Dropping/Withdrawing From a Course

  • Access UNCGenie in the upper right corner of the UNCG homepage.
  • Click Enter Secure Area and log on with your Student ID number and PIN.
  • Click Student Services & Financial Aid.
  • Click Registration.
  • Click Add/Drop Classes.
  • Select the desired term and click Submit.
  • Enter your advising code and press Submit (if requested).
  • Locate the course you wish to drop / withdraw.
  • Select Web Drop or Withdrawn Course as appropriate.
    • Web Drop means you can drop the course without a grade.
    • Withdrawn Course means you can withdraw with a grade of W.
    • Withdrawn Failing means it is too late to withdraw from the course.
  • Press Submit Changes.
  • Your remaining courses should show up on the new page above the CRN windows.
  • Scroll down to make sure there were no registration errors.

Applying to Graduate

Apply by the first week of the semester you plan to graduate.

  • Click Student Services & Financial Aid.
  • Click Student Records.
  • Click Apply to Graduate.
  • Click Undergraduate Degree Application.
  • Fill in special character instructions if applicable.
  • Fill in diploma mailing address if different from permanent address shown.
  • Click Submit.
  • Your graduation clearance staff contact will notify you of your status by email.

Subject: “Not Applicable” + Course Category

To avoid excess fees, you must request to be moved into the D-campus section of this course. Use the Distance Learning Registration Request Form

Additional Natural Science NS If you have not taken a lab with either of your other science courses, you must take one with this course
