This program is specifically planned as an online degree completion program for adult students who have already completed 60 hours of coursework.
Admission to the Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies is a two-step process. Minimum course requirements for admission to the university as a transfer student are listed at undergraduate admissions.
Applicants must supply the following to undergraduate admissions by August 1 for Fall enrollment and December 1 for Spring enrollment:
Undergraduate admissions application
$45 application fee
Official transcripts for the secondary school attended (and GED scores or adult high school diploma, if applicable) and from all post-secondary institution(s) attended, including summer, extension, developmental, and technical credit; High school transcripts are not required for second-degree seeking students.
After being accepted to the University, the student's degree audit is reviewed by the BLS program and the student is accepted into the program if the requirement of 60 total credit hours is satisfied. For additional information regarding the 60 credit hour requirement, go to: http://www.uncg.edu/aas/bls/pro_readme.html
Former Student – If you previously attended UNCG (without completing a degree) during a regular academic term (summer session not included) you are considered a former student. You should reapply using the Former Student Application. Additional information is available via undergraduate admissions.
Visiting Student or Non-Degree Student – If you are attending another institution (visiting) interested in individual courses or are not ready to apply to the BLS program, you may register for a course without making official application to the university. You will need to complete the Student Information Form.
Make application for each desired term and pay the $20 processing fee for each term.
Admission as a visiting student does not guarantee admission as a degree-seeking student; however, both the credit and grade earned as a visitor apply to your UNCG transcript.
It is strongly encouraged that students take no more than 9 credit hours as a visitor if they intend to apply as degree-seeking.
As a visitor, you may not be eligible for financial aid as this is a non-degree seeking status.
Official academic advising is not available for visiting students.
The deadline for enrollment as a visitor is the first day of class.
Registration is open on a space-available basis.
Visiting student fees are the same as those for degree-seeking students.
