Internet Connection
To take an online class, you need to be able to access the Internet. There are several ways of connecting to the Internet:
A cable modem or DSL/ISDN lines (preferred). You will have fast Internet access with a cable modem or DSL/ISDN lines. It's more expensive than connecting to the Internet through dial-up, but allows you to take full advantage of elements in your online classes, such as video and audio material.
Your phone line or dial-up (possible but not preferred). You will possibly need to wait a long time to load course content, such as video material. UNCG Information Technology does not recommend any particular ISP over another. You can check http://thelist.internet.com to search for an ISP by entering an area code.
